MARKETING under the microscope

In this marketing masterclass, we will explore commercialisation and business growth through market readiness and engaging market segments. We’ll examine how we pivot our business ideas into the needs of the market, as well as market segmentation and how we target specific market needs.

Given we use the Business Model Canvas, we’ll undertake a deep dive into the Value Proposition, Customer Segments and Customer Relationship areas of the canvas.


Alex is the Principal Founder of Syneka, which was formed in 2009 to build marketing capacity and capability. Syneka works with businesses to commercialise their ideas and concepts and to achieve revenue positive business growth. Syneka has been recognised through the Australian Marketing Institute’s Awards for Marketing Excellence on three occasions.

Alex has over 15 years experience in marketing and communications, serving in a variety of marketing and management roles where his strategic vision Alex is also a former Councillor and Mayor for Maroondah City Council, where he reversed 12 years of budget deficits and secured the redevelopment of the Ringwood Town Centre into a vibrant and accessible community centre.

Alex is a recognised marketing professional as a Certified Practising Marketer, Fellow of the Governance Insitute of Australia and the Australian Marketing Institute. He is a former State Chair of the Australian Marketing Institute, where we worked to professionalise the marketing industry
